Mare of the MoI Gives Herself for a Friend by HaveBKYourWay Mare of the MoI Gives Herself for a Friend by HaveBKYourWay
Rarity's badass self-sacrifice from Fallout Equestria.

At this particular moment Rarity is left alone facing certain death in the Ministry of Peace HQ after having teleported Fluttershy and Angel to safety. She is hardcore like that.

Raritys death I think was the worst I think. The rest died quickly or lived on somehow. She was wasted away in front of her own eyes and her last act was to save Fluttershy. She was generous to the last.

+ Her soul was cut into 43 pieces, thus there is the lingering question of her state at death. Did she move on into the next world with her friends or is her fragmented soul unable to maintain sufficient wholeness for that?

Well she did keep a single piece for herself so probably when she died that piece went to wherever Pony's go when they die. The others are trapped in soul jars. The Black Book probably had a way of releasing the souls fragments and putting them back into the original body or even bones essentially recreating Rarity but the Bones are now gone as is the book.

*spoiler warning much*

I dunno, there was never any mention of reattaching souls to bodies or repairing them when in shards. I mean, the whole reason why the Black Book was banned and considered sacrilegious by even the darkest of Zebra sorceresses and alchemists was for its ability to taint, damage and perhaps even destroy souls altogether. It was seen in the same light as being 'touched by the stars' and had its own entity that tried to poison the mind of whoever had the tomb in possession. If any particular passage or voice did promise a way to salvage a soul then it would most likely be a lie. The book is like the Ring of Doom in the same respect that it implants suggestions, provides false promises through short term gains of power, drives those around it mad and ultimately betrays the bearer for its own ends.

Celestia herself was doomed by its false hopes of salvation when she couldn't handle consequential mortality well.  (or any negative consequences for that matter)

All true, but we don't know the books contents completely. There probably was a counter for everything in it. Plus from what we see of healing potions and magic in general its entirely possible to resurrect someone with it. Heck, if you use Horizons as a base, you can transfer the souls trapped in the soul jars into a cloned body and not need the original body or bones.
I kind of like the idea of recreating the original Mane 6 and forcing them to see what there actions caused.

I am guessing CARE is the equivalent of the Mutually Assured Destruction policy. :3 Love your work!

Thanks :D

CARE was Fluttershy's idea, and it was the opposite of MAD. Fluttershy's vision was to create defensive megaspells for both sides of the conflict, to the extent that Zebras and Ponies would be unable to hurt one another. If they could not hurt one another, Fluttershy reasoned that the war would have to end. Unfortunately she was the only one thinking defensively, as both sides in the conflict rushed to create offensive megaspells instead.

Oh God not this scene!

It really is something that our heroes played a part in the apocalypse more or less, but they still managed to be the ponies we've grown to love . . . if only at the end for some of them.

And it's both funny and heartwarming that Littlepip herself almost becomes kind of a brony in how she comes to know and admire the Mane Six.

wait... I read the story.. but I'm still confused of what the pink cloud gas was supposed to do? I know how the megaspell worked tho!

At the end... at the very end... they all experienced and lived the very epitome of their Element... and thus they died.

Chapter 37: "With a bang, the second set of mahogany doors at the front of the meeting room slammed open as a white unicorn burst into the room. Her gorgeous purple mane and tail looked frazzled, and a beautiful saddle-purse hung next to the three diamonds of her cutie mark."

If she was wearing anything besides the saddle-purse, I do not know of it.

If you doubt my accuracy, Littlepip does in fact take note of how Rarity looks during her memory orb exchange with Blueblood. I do my homework before I make the pictures, to the best of my ability.

AND THEN WE'LL GET TO DASH AND GET NO CLOSURE AT ALL.
