Well, Rainbow Dash wins... Now what?

A possible Rainbow Dash victory over Gilda from Fallout: Equestria by Kkat. Honestly, this is the outcome I would expect. Who besides Gilda would be so bold and so foolish as to challenge Rainbow Dash to solo combat?

It is a great pic, but the cannon outcome is both live. In the security tape Radar shows to Little Pip in Friendship City the time stamp is said to be a few years post apocalyptic. When Rainbow is talking to the air calling for Pinkie, she says Gilda is still waiting for her.
And I think the recording Pip finds on Spike's mountain is from a couple of days after The End at most. Dash was one of the highest powers in the Pegasi, so she would have found out the truth of the Cloud Curtain very quickly.

But as I said, this is an awesome pic regardless if it is cannon or not.

I'm fairly sure that, after confirming everypony was dead or missing (either dead or in a Stable), I think it's possible that Rainbow may have either taken her own life or just set off flying in a particular direction, hoping to one day find a bit of the world that wasn't ruined where she could live out her remaining days.

That's an awesome picture, you did really well with the emotions tied to this scene, it is indeed a hollow victory since she had to kill an old friend, and for as much as she knew the only friend who still was around, except spike.

I have also seen the Gilda victory but didn't want to post there since the picture kinda twists my innards, G had some respect for dash and their history maybe not friendship anymore but respect that went so far that she agreed to perform their old cheer before the fight started, personally i can't see her beheading her corpse without showing some serious self hate for it, maybe not feelings so strong like in the dash victory picture but i am sure she still would show some sign of regret.

As for story rambling:
I have always been on the side of those who say Dash walked of that encounter alive.
FoE had this worst fate but chance of salvation in the future thing going for almost all the story characters. As for the story, if gilda would have won, the enclave would never have stopped to brag about that kill and would probably have gotten into the spp hub. There also woldn't be much fuss about the dashite movement, they would have used the information of her death to demoralize everyone who still had loyalty for her, probably even conserved her body just to show it off.
So in my headcanon she made it out of that encounter, her story could have continued like the story of the burnt man with the salvation ending (FO:NV-HH) or something else. After that hollow victory she probably would have realized that her fight is over. She may left the forming enclave in the first place to prevent a civil war in the skies, so short after the bombs an such war would have reduced the chance of survival above the clouds to 0 since they would have fought and eventually destroyed the last usable structures they had, this time pony against pony.
So what happened to her after the fight is open but as for (my) logical and probably a little bit of emotional reasons i kind of reject the outcome where she lost the fight against G.

While it is an awesome picture, I- I'm kinda of the thought that RD didn't make it. 1) we would have heard more about her (she's kind of hard to miss, color and personality-wise). 2) A Red Talon wouldn't name her giant gun 'Little Gilda' after a merc who simply disappeared 200 years ago. Nah, it's the kind of name you use because the person was a big-damn-hero... at least, in your mind. And taking down RD singleclawed would get Gilda a place in the annals of merc history.

Still, great picture. RD's expression is simple enough but still conveys the depth of her feelings. Also, I commend you on making Gilda's death relativly bloodless. Kudos. I would have just tightened up the scene a bit. It feels empty, but not in the right way. Mayhap if the cliff wall in the background were actually the horizon? That way the scense of loneliness is still there because there's nothing and no one else in the expanse. Just a suggestion.

Keep up the art,

O hey, constructive criticism. I like that. I am not thinking that Gilda needs to have won to get a gun named after her. For one thing, that gun may have been nicknamed Little Gilda before the end of the war. Also, Gilda may have been a famous mercenary already. I don't think disappearing while hunting RD would decrease her fame. If she was already famous, I think disappearing without a trace along with Rainbow Dash, who she had been hunting, would increase that fame further. Sort of like Amelia Earhart but with two famous personalities instead of just one.

I did finish a Gilda victory scene, linked in the description. If you liked Gilda's bloodless death, I don't think you will like how I made Rainbow Dash's death. It's pretty bloody.

Ooo, a well thought counter-argument. And yes, point to you for the idea. The dual vanishing would definetly up both their status' to legendary proportions. Also, I could see the topic of discussion causing many a barroom brawl between ponies and griffons (and I did see Kkat's headcannon which is also kind of awesome).

Yeah, I did check out the Gilda victory. It makes sense though, art-telling-a-story-wise; RD just killed her childhood friend, so the focus is more on the emotions of the scene, Gilda doesn't give a crap. In a way, this cements her as part of the mentality that is to come: Friends? Family? Doesn't matter. It's just Death and Caps. So RD's death being gore filled kinda works in that regard. Although I think it's awesome that, even dead, RD is giving Gilda the stink-eye.

Lovely idea. Still, the show-like style doesn't fit for Fo:E to me. It's just too rainbow and shiny for me. I believe there would be more debris, bruises and scorched earth - there practically nothing happened. Only Dash ruined her mane a bit. Nothing a comb wouldn't fix in two minutes.

Apart of style, it's perfect. Cheers =)
